Tokens, limits and overage, explained.
What are tokens?
Tokens are the usage currency for Sprigr Platform. Every AI interaction, reading your stack, building a workflow, making a decision, uses some. Your plan includes a monthly allowance. You get a warning at 80% of it, and agents pause at 100% unless you turn overage billing on.
How does overage billing work?
When overage billing is on, agents keep running past your monthly allowance. Every paid plan is charged the same flat rate of $5 per 1M tokens over the allowance, billed at the end of your cycle alongside the plan fee. The Free plan has no overage; agents pause at the limit. Enterprise rates are negotiated. Toggle it on or off any time from the Billing page.
Can I set my own spend limits?
Yes. You choose whether to enable overage billing or pause agents when the allowance is reached, and you can set a daily per-agent token limit so no single agent can consume your whole budget.
What counts as a search object?
A search object is one JSON record imported into a Sprigr Search index via the API, the MCP server, or the admin dashboard. Each object counts toward your plan's limit regardless of size, and the limit applies to the total across all indexes.
What happens when I hit a limit?
Search: upgrade your plan or reduce your object count.
Platform: by default, agents pause at 100% of your monthly allowance, with a warning at 80% so you have time to upgrade or turn overage on. With overage on, agents keep running and you are billed per 1M tokens at the end of the cycle.
Is there a free trial?
There is no timed trial. The Free plan on both products has no expiry. Upgrade when you outgrow it and change plans any time from the Billing page.
