simPRO
simPRO is one of the most comprehensive integrations available for Sprigr Team, covering jobs, quotes, schedules, customers, sites, invoices, leads, purchase orders, timesheets, assets, and much more across your field service management platform. Agents can look up and create jobs, build quotes, check schedules, and update customer records, giving office staff and field teams fast access to the information they need.
This integration is designed for trade businesses and field service companies that use simPRO as their primary job management system.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- An active simPRO build with API access enabled, and a simPRO login for each person who will use it through an agent.
- Admin or Owner role in your Sprigr Team organisation to install the app.
Installing and connecting
Section titled “Installing and connecting”-
Install the app
Sign in to team.sprigr.com, open Apps in the sidebar, find simPRO under Available, and install it. Set your simPRO build URL (for example
https://yourcompany.simprosuite.com) once at install time. A simPRO client ID and secret are optional and only needed if you connect with OAuth or client credentials rather than each person’s own login. -
Connect your simPRO login
Ask your agent to connect simPRO, or use Connect on the app’s settings page. The agent sends you a simPRO sign-in link. Each person connects once with their own credentials.
-
Pick a business if you have more than one
One simPRO credential can expose several simPRO businesses (companies). If yours does, the app shows a business picker after sign-in; you can change it later with the
select_businessaction. If there is only one, it is selected automatically. -
Check the connection
Ask the agent “What jobs are scheduled for today?” A user who has not connected gets a clear not-connected error and a connect link rather than someone else’s data.
Sync, webhooks, and undo
Section titled “Sync, webhooks, and undo”- Real-time webhooks. On connect the app registers simPRO webhooks covering job, quote, invoice, customer, and vendor order lifecycles, so changes flow into Sprigr as they happen.
- Synced search index. Record lookups are served from a synced index with a live API fallback, so searches across jobs, customers, and sites are fast. Background sync runs on a schedule with an on-demand full sync.
- Undo. Reversible changes are journalled. Ask the agent what it can undo and to undo a change; it uses the platform’s
list_undoable_changesandundo_changetools, which work the same for every app. Deleting a job, quote, customer, lead or purchase order is not undoable, because recreating the parent record would leave it hollow. - Confirmation before money or data moves. Fifty-six actions pause for your confirmation in the chat before they run: creating, updating, sending and paying invoices, credit notes, payments, purchase-order and vendor receipts, converting a quote to a job, and every delete across jobs, quotes, cost centres, sections, attachments, schedules, customers, sites, contacts, leads, suppliers, contractors and employees. Notes written by agents are prefixed with
[AI]so they are easy to tell apart in simPRO. - Events for workflows. Each webhook delivery is emitted as a Sprigr event a workflow can subscribe to:
simpro.job.created,.updated,.statusand.deleted, and the same four for quotes, invoices, customers, vendor orders, sites, contacts and leads (29 event types). The payload names the record; the workflow reads it back through thesimprotool before acting. - Procurement surface for other apps. A narrower
simpro_job_contexttool exposes job and site context, cost centres, suppliers and purchase orders so a sibling app such as Bunnings can price materials and write a purchase order back without being handed the whole simPRO API. - Optional UI transport. Where a record only exists in the staff portal’s grids, the app can be configured to read it from the live pages through the Sprigr browser service; this is off on almost every install and needs two extra secrets.
- Attachments. Agents can list and download job, quote, and purchase order attachments (with image and PDF previews in chat), upload files into attachment folders, and share them through re-signable links.
What agents can do
Section titled “What agents can do”The app exposes a single simpro tool that takes an action parameter, with several hundred actions covering the simPRO API. Call list_actions to see the current catalogue with each action’s parameters. At a category level:
- Jobs: List and search jobs, get full job details and breakdowns, create and update jobs, change status, add notes, manage sections and cost centres, lock and unlock, archive, duplicate, and invoice a job.
- Quotes: List quotes, read full quote details including line items, create and update quotes, add sections and cost centres, convert a quote to a job (with a totals pre-check so nothing is lost), lock and unlock, archive.
- Composite creation:
create_quote_fullandcreate_job_fullbuild a complete quote or job in one call, including multiple cost centres, labour lines, and one-off items, with the site auto-resolved and totals verified before returning.find_or_create_customer,find_or_create_site, andfind_or_create_jobavoid duplicates. - Schedules: Daily schedule, list schedules for a date range, create, update, and delete schedules.
- Customers, contacts, and sites: Search by name, phone, email, or ID; read profiles and summaries; create and update customers, contacts, and sites; read site contacts, preferred technicians, and custom fields.
- Invoices and payments: List and read invoices, create and update, send an invoice, record payments, fetch a payment link, credit notes.
- Leads: List, read, and create leads, including a
create_lead_fullcomposite. - Purchasing and stock: Purchase orders and line items, vendor receipts, vendor contacts and addresses, suppliers, catalog items and inventory, stock.
- People: Employees, staff, contractors, timesheets, pay rates and licences that are otherwise only visible in the simPRO UI.
- Assets and recurring work: Customer assets and service levels, recurring jobs and invoices, activities, work orders.
- Setup data: Cost centre definitions, labour rates, tax codes, status codes, tags, zones, custom field definitions.
Common use cases
Section titled “Common use cases”- Job status lookups: “What’s the status of Job 12345?” returns who is assigned, what stage it is at, and any notes.
- Schedule checks: “What jobs does Dave have tomorrow?” returns a summary of appointments with addresses and job details.
- Quote building: Office staff describe a job and the agent builds the quote in simPRO with the right customer, site, cost centres, and labour lines, ready for review.
- Customer lookup: “Find the customer at 42 Smith Street” searches customer and site records and returns matching results with job history.
- Daily briefings: A morning workflow queries the day’s schedule and sends each technician a summary of their jobs, including site addresses and access notes.
- Job costing: The agent pulls cost centre data and a cost-to-complete report so the project manager can track spending against budget.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Not-connected errors The calling user has not linked a simPRO login. Ask the agent to connect simPRO, or open the app settings page and choose Connect.
Agent cannot find jobs or customers simPRO restricts data by user role and security group. The connected login must have permission to see the record.
Wrong business selected
Use the select_business action or the app settings page to switch businesses.
Slow responses for large datasets Ask the agent to use filters (date range, status, customer) rather than listing everything.
Custom fields not appearing Custom fields must exist and be enabled in simPRO for the relevant record type before the API exposes them.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- Integrations Overview: See all available integrations.
- Creating Agents: Create a dedicated simPRO agent with a tailored persona.
- Workflows: Automate daily schedule distribution or job status reporting.
- Knowledge Bases: Upload process guides so agents can reference them alongside simPRO data.
