Microsoft 365

The Microsoft 365 app connects Outlook Mail, Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and Excel, and a SharePoint read surface to Sprigr Team in a single install with a single consent. It replaces the older built-in Outlook Mail, Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive integrations, which are no longer offered for new connections.

  • A Microsoft 365 account (business or enterprise). Personal Outlook.com accounts are also supported.
  • Admin or Owner role to install the app for your company. Any member can connect their own Microsoft account once the app is installed.
  • If your tenant requires admin consent for third-party applications, a tenant administrator approves the app once. The app provides an admin-consent link for this (see below).
  1. Install the app

Sign in to team.sprigr.com, open Apps in the sidebar, find Microsoft 365 under Available, and install it. See Installing Apps.

  2. Grant admin consent if your tenant needs it

If Microsoft reports “Admin approval required”, ask your agent for the admin-consent link (ms_admin_consent_url) and send it to your Microsoft 365 administrator. They approve the app once for the whole tenant.

  3. Connect your Microsoft account

Open the app’s settings page from Apps > Installed and choose Connect, or ask your agent to connect Microsoft for you. The agent calls ms_connect and sends you a Microsoft sign-in link. Each person who wants their agent to use Microsoft 365 does this once with their own account. Reconnecting later does not force a fresh consent.

  4. Check the connection

Ask your agent “Is my Microsoft account connected?” It calls ms_connection_status and reports which product areas are ready. To remove a connection, use ms_disconnect or the app settings page.

Mail sync is opt-in per user and off by default. When a user enables it, their new Outlook mail is mirrored into the Sprigr Inbox in near-real-time using Microsoft Graph change notifications with a delta-query poll as a backstop.

  • ms_enable_mail_sync, ms_disable_mail_sync, ms_sync_status control mirroring for the calling user.
  • ms_backfill_mailbox, ms_backfill_status, and ms_backfill_stop pull historic mail, including attachments and inline images on older messages.
  • A Sent folder mirrors the user’s Outlook Sent mail so sent messages line up across Sprigr and Outlook.
  • Read state and folder moves mirror in both directions.
  • Events for workflows. Synced mail and indexed files emit microsoft365.mail.received, microsoft365.mail.sent, microsoft365.file.created, microsoft365.file.updated and microsoft365.file.deleted, which a workflow can subscribe to.

A person can connect several Microsoft accounts, for example their own and a shared sales@ mailbox they have been delegated. ms_list_mailboxes lists the calling user’s connections with the default marked, and ms_select_default_mailbox changes which one the outlook_mail_* tools use when a request does not name a mailbox. Any mail tool can also name a mailbox for a single call. Connections stay private to the person who made them.

File indexing is on by default from the moment a user connects. The user’s OneDrive, plus any SharePoint document libraries an admin has configured, is indexed into an access-controlled search index. Per-file permissions are enforced, so each person only ever finds files they are allowed to see.

  • Any user can opt out with ms_disable_file_indexing; the opt-out persists across reconnects. ms_enable_file_indexing turns it back on.
  • Admins add or remove SharePoint sites with ms_add_sharepoint_index_site, ms_remove_sharepoint_index_site, and ms_list_sharepoint_index_sites.
  • ms_set_defaults and ms_get_defaults hold install-wide defaults, including an install-wide off switch for indexing and a default OneDrive root folder path.
  • Email attachments: up to 50 MB per attachment.
  • OneDrive and SharePoint file reads and downloads: up to 250 MB per file. Large text files are read in pages. Uploads above the simple-upload size use resumable upload automatically.

All tools run as the calling user. A user who has not connected gets a not_connected result rather than another person’s data; the agent will offer a connect link.
